Recommendations

At The Currency Reserve, we take our recommendations very serious. It’s like when you are young, and you are told to think everything through because your name is on it. When we recommend an area, we are putting our name on it. We literally go over our areas for price point, availability, and market trends over a 50-year time period.

The Minting of commemorative coins dates back as far as ancient Greece, to honor such things as local industry, victory in battle, and heroes.

In the United States, the creation of commemorative coins requires special legislation, because the pieces are usually minted for collecting rather than for public circulation. Every one of these coins mentioned in the The Currency Reserve recommendations were minted in recognition of special historical events or to raise money for celebrations or memorials. Yes, the United States minted a coin to fund the Panama Canal.

The areas that I am going to list here are areas that are rare, have a low mintage, and right now the market does not have a lot of pressure on them. Keep in mind that our industry works off of supply and demand. If an area has very low supply and a high demand it will cost more, is the supply is high and has low demand the price is low. Makes sense, right? This is why it is vital to know what to buy and when. Not just take the word of someone who is selling what everyone is and seems excited.
